It just doesn't seem that long ago....
So I am thinking it really is appropriate Daniel was born on a Holy Day...he was Heaven Sent afterall. And I don't wanna hear one peep out of the peanut gallery...that means you, siblings! He was my December baby and always such a snuggle bug. We celebrated Daniel's birthday this past Saturday along with our grandson Peter's. I have posted about Peter on his birthday so I will now give my son his birthday due!
First of all it snowed for his birthday party and for Peter's REAL birthday. Compliments of Daniel, I have this picture of our house with snow on December 4, 2010! It was the big wet fluffy kind of snow! It snowed off and on from early afternoon until around midnight. By the time the snow was over you couldn't see the grass peeking out. How pretty!
We started off the celebration with dinner at Fat Daddy's. Best hamburgers in town! Or chili, or hot dogs, or chicken wings, or...well you get the idea. We have been going to that restaurant since we first moved here 24 years ago and Fat Daddy's just celebrated their 25th anniversary. I think our kids and Fat Daddy's grew up together! Anyway after an early dinner, we came back to Sush and Pop's.
First we played for a bit...Tim and Daniel had a round of wrestling:
Peter was waiting his turn with a smile...
Trey jumped in for a round of tickling...
Lily and Aunt Laura were busy playing with Zoey and Zeus
Shortly after some play time the grandchildren decorated the kids tree:
Trey led the way...
Peter was eager to hang Mickey Mouse on the tree
Lily got the knack and bells were hung with her nimble fingers
Soon after we opened presents...and sang Happy Birthday to Peter, he chose cupcakes!
I think he approved, Mom!
And Uncle Dan chose a Cookie Cake and Peppermint Stick ice cream!
Lily was enthralled with the singing and the candles!
And cake and ice cream passed Trey's taste test!
I think I figured out why Uncle Dan loves Peppermint Stick Ice Cream for his birthday...it goes waaaaaayyyyyy back...
All the way back to his first birthday cake! (That's one to grow on, plus one year)
So Daniel 29 years ago I looked like this before driving to the hospital...
So we all could have a look at this precious baby....
Yes, Daniel Son, You...!
I'll Love You Forever...Happy Birthday!
