Dancing Shoes

I feel like I've won the lottery. I don't often enter in contests or giveaways etc. as I'm not  one to win. I just don't...well not often. There was the blackout bingo game I won the summer when I was twelve years old. Seems like that was just the other day....! It was a summer right out of a storybook...I'll share some of those salty air tales another day.

Today I am all about a pair of orange converse tennis shoes. Artistically decorated by Holly, the daughter of one of my fav-o-rite blog friends, Lynn, from The Giggle Fest. Lynn had a Blogaversery giveaway offer I just Could. Not. Pass. Up. So, I signed up. While it had been a few years since the bingo blackout, a girl's gotta be due another win sometime, right? RIGHT! When Lynn announced on her blog I was the winner of the shoes, you could have knocked me over with some Scottish heather. Or whatever else she has at hand in her bonny ole Scotland. I am from Scottish decent on my Mother's side of the family....perhaps they had a hand in my win? Something special and magical was in the air that day to make me the winner.

Today as I was heading out the door to run a few errands I nearly stepped on this box.
I am so glad I didn't. I felt this ripple of excitement when I spied this brown paper wrapped box. Even the words were thrilling to me. It wasn't the typical US Mail stamped on the box. Oh no...it was intoxicating to see a 'Customs Declaration' label and Royal Mail instead! Am I saving that box for posterity? Oh YOU KNOW IT! I was told my prize was on its way but had no idea how long parcels from Scotland take or even when Lynn was able to mail it. (Lynn leads one of the busiest, devoted lives of a young Mother you could ever know. Head on over to her lovely blog and you'll be a Giggle Fest devotee  too). Okay...I don't want to delay your view of these precious shoes...they are a work of beauty and talent and outstandingly creative. Behold:
Oh I AM such a tease...but I like to draaaawwwww out the thrill when unwrapping and  carefully peel away the wrapping, one. layer. at. a. time...
oohhh it's almost here...the first surprise though was the decal with Scottish flags...can't wait to apply those to my ride...hear that Shady??? Might be a posting...how we decked out our rides, circa 1969! Okay now the piece de resistance...inner side of shoes...oh just too too precious!
outer side of shoes...and look at the laces, I'm in love...
but wait...just when I thought I'd seen it all, I noticed another tissue wrapped package...
shortbread cookies from Scotland, in Scottie dog shapes! Now Lynn doesn't know this but we have a son whose name is Scott. The neighbor across the street while he was growing up was a girl his same age and grade. Amy's nickname for Scott was Scottie Dog! Coincidence? Perhaps...magic at work...perhaps! Isn't this just the loveliest package to find outside one's door? Oh YES!!
I can't wait to regift the shoes. Sadly, I can't fit into them myself. My days of tiny dancing feet ended several pregnancies and eons ago. Now I can't tell you exactly who will be receiving these lovelies as I don't want to spoil the surprise. Suffice it to say I know a very special young lady who will be out of her mind with excitement when she views these darling shoes and doing a little Scottish jig! Dancing shoes indeed!

Thank you Holly for designing such a beautiful pair of shoes and Hugs, Kisses, Giggles and oh so much Loves, Loves, Loves to you Lynn for having your giveaway and making it possible for me to be the temporary owner of these beauties!

As I have garnered so much mileage, and gained the reputation of being a tease ...everyone will have to wait to see the other lovely left on my doorstep...ohhhhh I just love this!

You are a tease aren't you...but such lovely things to tease about. The sneakers are adorable. I don't know how you'll be able to part with them. And real Scottish shortbreads - heavenly. Your big win was worth waiting for.

Just I don't know how to say; you are a temporary owner.
But your posts always filled with learning to me, thank you very much. I checked "Scottish heather" to know what it is.
Happy for your FUN time☆☆☆

Holly and Lynn put together a real care package for you. They are assets to the blogging world (as are you, dear Sush). Question: by any chance will you be re-gifting those Scottie dog cookies? Huh? Huh?

Those shoes are to die for - you lucky lucky girl! (or, unlucky, since they don't fit.) What a great surprise to find on your doorstep on a normal, regular day.

I managed to get on a friend's computer today in London so that I could comment on your post. I am delighted that you got the parcel alright and I can just tell how much you love those shoes too!

Enjoy the shortbread my friend and I hope the recipient of the shoes loves them as much as you.

Love and hugs
